The closure of the Chillicothe mill is a difficult but necessary decision due to unsustainable financial challenges at the Chillicothe location. The result will leave us with a business that is better positioned to ensure that we maintain our competitive position in the marketplace.
Operations will wind down in phases. The closure process is expected to be completed in the coming weeks. Both employees and customers have received notification with individual timelines to support a smooth transition.
Pixelle is committed to supporting impacted employees with job placement services, access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and other transition resources. Union-represented employees will receive updates through their leadership. For personalized support, employees may contact their supervisor or reach out to Pixelle’s Human Resources team.
Pixelle is working closely with customers to ensure a smooth transition. In many cases, production will be shifted to the Spring Grove and Fremont facilities. Customers with questions should reach out to their Pixelle sales representative.
The closure of the Chillicothe Mill does not affect operations at Stevens Point.
